Sea Princess Notches Up Princess Cruises 10th World Cruise

Having pioneered long cruising down under, Princess Cruises is celebrating a milestone today with its 10th world cruise setting sail from Australia this afternoon.

Sea Princess will depart Sydney at 4pm on a 104-night global circumnavigation taking in 41 destinations in 28 countries over a distance of 32,817 nautical miles.

Highlights include a record number of South American calls including Cartagena in Colombia and Pisco in Peru plus visits to Reykjavik, Easter Island, Athens, Rome, Istanbul, Bermuda, and overnight stops in New York, Dubai and Venice.

Closer to home, Sea Princess will make her maiden visit to Busselton in Western Australia on Thursday, giving guests the chance to spend the day exploring nearby Margaret River.

Princess Cruises is the only cruise line to offer a roundtrip world cruise from the southern hemisphere and this year’s itinerary marks the first opportunity for Western Australian cruisers to join a roundtrip world cruise from Fremantle.

Since it began offering annual world voyages from Australia in 2008, including two world cruises in both 2012 and 2013, Princess has carried more than 30,000 Australians on its global odysseys.

Of the 2000 guests sailing today, more than half are doing the full world cruise and about a quarter have previously done a full world cruise with Princess.

Some guests have already booked on next year’s 104-night world cruise, with a few even lining up for the recently announced 2017 world voyage as well.

Sea Princess’ 2017 world cruise will offer the first chance for Australians to cruise from their doorstep on a circumnavigation of South America with the 84-night itinerary priced from $17,999* per person twin share. About 200 tonnes of food and beverage items are being loaded onto the ship in Sydney with world cruise guests consuming about 400kg of beef, 300 dozen eggs, 600 litres of milk, 1.5kg of caviar, 1700kg of fresh vegetables and 1000 bottles of beer per day.
